Some may have to be updated by their developers(*), others have been updated already and will automatically appear in the Welcome View of Studio 2014, and another group of apps just need a bit of a helping hand to work in the new environment. NHS Glossary in the Guardian

NHS jargonA link on Twitter last week took me to a glossary in the Guardian of healthcare jargon and acronyms. I read through a number of entries and thought it looked like a useful resource of NHS-specific terms for medical translators so I quickly retweeted it. False Friends in Pharma

Spanish-English false friendsOne trap that new language learners fall into is presuming that words that look or sound alike have the same meaning in both languages. Spanish/English speakers soon discover that being embarrassed isn’t the same as “estar embarazada” and that “tener un constipado” isn’t the same as being constipated.
